A question from a neighbor!

Paul and Sue Foster recently had some input and asked a great question:

“Where is the neighborhood info?
I hear logging going on down there, what’s going on? is someone building? new neighbors?
I see someone is selling there house, where are they going? someone new moving in?
Any wildlife sightings?
Anyone giving away free stuff they want to get rid of like produce etc? (not selling)
Or, am I mistaken and this is not that sort of site.”

“What is this s#!t! I joined this for information, on sightings of birds, bears, coyotes etc what neighbors are doing. . First notifications someone was selling a toilet and now T-shirts please take me off your email list ASAP. This is a garbage site “

This is that kind of site!

I apologize as generally, we rely on neighborhood input to create posts of this type. Please use “SUBMIT A POST” to provide information or list items available such as produce, household items, or animal sightings and such. There also may occasionally be the need to publish other types of information, however, the purpose is to make available information pertinent to this community. Everyone is always welcome to use the Latest News link to see what has recently been posted with an archive directory available as well.

Recently Karyn Tilander had a request to mention speeding and such, which we posted promptly.

Ed Torkelson was kind enough to request that we mention a bear sighting that was posted.

Lindon Green recently posted about a free toilet, hope someone took advantage of that!

I also know that Ray and Lynn Peters have accepted an offer on their place, looking forward to meeting the new owners and will introduce them when I get the information.

Mike Kamenzind also mentioned that Bert and Karyn Tilander have sold their place and unfortunately we don’t have the detail on their plans moving forward?!?!

Mike Kamenzind recently had an impromptu work party to clear a beaver dam near the entrance which was posted, thanks, Mike!

Larry Riechman was reported to be under the weather, however, I have seen him out and about so that is a positive sign, hope you are feeling better Larry!

As is evident, the lot outside our gate has some serious clearing going on, and a few weeks ago a younger couple stopped by the Fish On Lane area and chatted with Lyle Ketterling and Richard MacInnes out front for a minute. Welcome to the younger couple, I believe their names are Cole and Nicole. I will try to get more details soon.

I also heard a rumor that there may be a new construction project commencing soon down in the Fish On Lane area, so more to come on that.

Finally, Dave and Corrine Berg have been hammering away at a very handsome-looking structure at 100 Fish On Lane, apparently using materials he has taken from their property. This may explain the recent sound of trees falling in the vicinity, it looks like they used trees for the support structure, old school craftsmanship!

I recently posted a spoof T-shirt order about a newly coined group called the “Sanican River Gang” which was inspired by Mike Kamenzind’s comments he used to describe the group of neighbors who recently met down at the river for a casual social occasion. These included Bill Fortig, Michael and Annie Messmore, Marty Sederberg, Ed and Gladys Torkelson and Randy and Tiffany Wolfe. We had a great time, had some jet boat rides and some good food. I have removed the post and apologize to my community members for the gaffe, we did have t-shirts made so be on the lookout!

I also heard a rumor that there will be a new little one in the neighborhood soon! It is so wonderful to see young and vibrant families in the neighborhood, I know I enjoy seeing the youthful diversity in our neighborhood.

Finally, on the upcoming long weekend, several neighbors will be meeting up on Saturday at the river for a casual hangout. Ed and Gladys Torkelson will be bringing sanitary restroom facilities, so bring a dish and hang out for a while around one PM. There should be at least one jet boat for jet boat rides, and several families and guests will be in for the long weekend, so it should be fun.

Side note, I have been diligently collecting and scanning information into the system as quickly as possible. I am still working on obtaining the documents from the LOA and will try to get everything scanned and sorted as soon as possible. If you would like access to this information, please log in to the system with your username and password or request access and you will be set up quickly.

Please contribute as you can to your community by using the “SUBMIT A POST” option on this website. We are always excited to have neighbor involvement and will try to do better moving forward. When you are reviewing a post, always look at the bottom of the page and you will see links to the most recent posts. Also, from the Latest News link, you can see a directory of all the things that have been recently posted. Paul and Sue, thanks for being great neighbors, your input is much appreciated and hopefully, this answers your questions?!
