When Rose and I bought our property, we were told we would have access to the river at the end of Greenwater Drive, to launch a boat and fish. This has value to me and it was considered when negotiating the price we paid for the property.
I have recently been told that the only legal access I have is a 5’ pedestrian access. This does not work for me launching a boat. If it is true, it reduces the value of my property. It also puts a question mark on the contract for the sale of our property.
I expect at some point my wife will be handling the sale of our property. I don’t want there to be any question about this access when she sells. I also don’t want that question to reduce the price of our property.
I suggest that we get this straightened out. I would prefer to have access that will allow me to launch a boat. If current legality does not allow this, I suggest we try to purchase the access. If that does not work out, we need to make it clear, on our website, what the conditions are for access to the river. Future sales contracts should be clear on this issue.
Bad feelings amongst us need to end.
